DAS HAUS A la Vida Bona - Pitcho Womba Konga & GLoW Collective

Dans l’aventure rien n’est sûr à part que tout change

The fourth season of DAS HAUS opens with a daring, boundary-breaking performance that breathes new life into centuries-old music. We invite you to immerse yourself in an unforgettable evening that is seductive, rebellious, and intoxicating.

In "A La Vida Bona", we dive into the rich history of the Chaconne—from its forbidden origins as a sensual dance in the Spanish colonies to Bach’s iconic, reflective compositions. In this interpretation, the GLoW Collective collaborates with Belgian-Congolese slam poet Pitcho Womba Konga and Thai-British composer Prach Boondiskulchok to explore how this ancient musical form speaks to our modern, multicultural world. Together, they take you to reflect on identity, diversity, and the joy of life, proving that even today, life is a celebration.

A new force on the Brussels chamber music scene, the GLoW Collective combines classical instruments with the unexpected sounds of accordion and electric guitar. This unorthodox polyphonic blend ignites creative freedom and versatility, taking audiences on an unpredictable and exhilarating journey.

A leading voice in Belgium’s cultural scene, Pitcho Womba Konga is a celebrated multidisciplinary artist known for his powerful voice and captivating performances, with roots in hip-hop and theater. Having fled the Mobutu regime as a child, he continually explores themes of identity, history, and social justice, making his work both deeply personal and universally resonant.

The night’s composer, Prach Boondiskulchok, is known for blending Western and Thai musical traditions, reflecting his cultural heritage. Praised by The Times and The Guardian, his compositions have been featured at renowned venues such as Wigmore Hall and, now, DAS HAUS.
